Officer Anya RigoniRecruiter

I was born in Russia and was adopted by an amazing family in California when I was 10 years old. After graduating high school, I went to college at University of Nevada, Reno where I majored in Criminal Justice and minor in Military Science. After my freshman year of college, I joined the Army. After graduating college, I commissioned as an Officer in the Army National Guard.

I grew up loving animals and my first job was a veterinary assistant when I was a sophomore in high school. Throughout the years, with experience and schooling, I worked my way to becoming a veterinary technician. In 2018 I decided it was time to make a change and applied to San Antonio Police Department. After completing the application process and being accepted into the police academy, I packed up and moved from California to Texas. I became a San Antonio Police Officer in November of 2019.

Being an officer with the San Antonio Police Department has given me the opportunity to connect with many people from all different paths of life.

“I love being able to speak with female who might shy away from becoming an officer because they believe that they are “too small.” I am 5’1 and 115lbs, you got this girl!”
